Are you needing some ideas to help you complete your look that will kick start your year? Look no further. We have compiled a small list of beautiful on-trend looks, which are achievable at home and won’t take more than 15 minutes to achieve.
1. ROPE BRAIDS
PREEN S/S 18
With this style you can really take advantage of your hair type with which result you decide to go for. For wavy to curly hair, use your texture to its advantage and do a loose low bun combining rope braids with wavy strands of hair. A slicked backed high ponytail with a rope braid is perfect for those of you with sleek and straight hair.
Tutta’s tips: For the loose relaxed bun, beginning by prepping the hair with“Label. m Volume Mousse“ on wet or dry hair, and blow-dry it to give extra texture and body to the hair. Tie the hair into a low ponytail and tease out a few strands to give the relaxed slept in look. Decide on the amount of braids you want and the size, then section the hair from the ponytail and begin to braid the desired sections. To create the rope braid effect, separate the section into two equal parts, and then twist both pieces of hair together clockwise. Tie with a clear elastic. After you have braided all desired sections, twist the hair into a low bun, and fasten with big bobby pins. Keep it looking loose and set with “Label. m Texturising Volume Spray” for blonde hair, and ”Label. m Brunette Texturising Volume Spray” for brunettes.
For the high ponytail, brush through hair thoroughly and tie up into a high ponytail. Separate the hair into two sections and twist both strands clockwise to create the rope braid. Use “Redken Align 12 Smoothing Lotion” to achieve a sleek look, and go over with “Kerastase Laque Couture Spray” to smooth down flyaways.
2. RELAXED WAVES
SONIA RYKIEL S/S 18
This is the perfect no stress hairstyle, especially for long lengths. Add a red lip and voilà, you are ready to go!
Malin’s tips: This style can be prepared the night before. Wash hair and allow it to be 75% dry. Use “Shu Uemura Wonder Worker”, which can be used for both for blow drying the hair or letting your hair dry naturally. Work in “Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Oil” through the lengths and plait hair in a single plait from the nape of the neck. To get the best results keep the hair plaited until the next night. Take out the plait and then finger comb the lengths. Finish by blasting your roots with “Label. m Texturising Volume Spray” to add more texture and through the lengths if desired also.
3. VELVET BOWS
TORY BURCH A/W 17
Beautiful statement bows in velvet featured at Tory Burch this season. This is a really quick hairstyle to do whilst still being super chic. Finish off the outfit with a pair of statement earrings.
Malin’s tips: Work “Label. m Volumising Mousse” through wet or dry hair (less product is needed if dry). Brush through hair and set hair into a centre parting. Quickly go over the roots with the hairdryer, helping the hair fall in the desired direction. Tie hair into a low ponytail and then tie a piece of velvet into a large bow. Spray all over “Label. M Hold & Gloss” to give a nice shine finish. For extra movement loosely curl some strands with a large barrel curling iron.
4. GOLDEN BARRETTES
VERSACE F/W 17
Centre parted unfussy straight hair has been a classic style that always looks current and glamorous. It’s popularity is set to continue into 2018 after it was spotted on the catwalk at Versace and Dolce and Gabbana. Add a gold decorative barrette in front of both ears to give an extra sparkle to your New Year Look.
Tutta’s tips: Use “Shu Uemura Ample Angora Volumizing Light Foam” to start as a baseline for the whole hair, and then blow dry it to hold down flyaways and get some volume at the roots. Brush through hair and set into a centre parting using a comb. If you want some more volume, use “Shu Uemura Invisible Texturizing Powder” in the roots. Then add two gold barrettes in front of each ear.
