From the braid to the un-done and all lengths in between
Hair from the Catwalk
From Milan to Paris with love, here we have rounded up the last couple weeks of runway presentations, honing into the zeitgeist of Spring/Summer 2019. There were a few specific styles that were echoed across the majority of collections this runway season, which will most likely be the precursor of what is to come next spring and summer.
Collections included: Miu Miu, Giambattista Valli, Hermes, Sonia Rykkel, Altuzarra, Issey Miyake, Chloe, Givenchy, Valentino, Thom Browne, Balanciaga, Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, Celine, Jacquemus & Fendi.
The Un-Done Braid
Featured at many shows we saw fuss-free, care-free hair. Unleash the braids for the ultimate wave on wave finish, allowing the braid structure to unwind and flow freely.
Strut with structure: braids most definitely have had a noteworthy presence on this season’s runways. With such variation, contrasts are created with section patterns and different braid types – dare to be different and add some braid-sass to your life.
The SHORT SHORT
Chopping off your long hair and adopting a bob style has been a supertrend in recent times, but it now looks like the trend is going to be going even shorter. There were so many models with various styles and lengths of short hair all over catwalks this last month. Opt for a fringe which can be styled in numerous ways to change up your mood or add some extra femininity/attitude depending on social schedule.
WISPY BABY HAIRS+BALLERINA BUN
Topknots this season are kept small and placed high up on the top of the head. Want some extra romance? Create a super-slick bun and fasten in place, then tease out the baby hairs framing your face and ears with a tail-comb. If your wanting a bit of definition, work a small amount of a curling cream-based product in your hands and then distribute sparingly in order to keep the natural flow of the hair.
